The company offers a thoughtfully curated selection of fine jewelry, engagement rings, wedding bands, and luxury pieces, with a strong emphasis on personalized service, product expertise, craftsmanship, and long-term client relationships.
This opportunity is well suited for an experienced fine jewelry sales professional who enjoys working closely with clients, developing a loyal book of business, and guiding customers through meaningful and high-value purchases.
Role Description
The Fine Jewelry Sales Specialist will deliver a highly personalized client experience while guiding customers through fine jewelry, engagement rings, wedding bands, and other luxury purchases.
The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of diamonds and fine jewelry along with demonstrated success in relationship-based selling. This individual should be comfortable working with discerning clientele and confident discussing jewelry materials, gemstones, diamonds, craftsmanship, and product details.
Success in this position requires strong sales instincts, curiosity, emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and the ability to build meaningful, long-term client relationships. The successful candidate will also be proactive, coachable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced boutique environment where individual accountability and teamwork are equally important.
Primary Responsibilities
Sales & Client Engagement
- Guide clients through the selection of fine jewelry, engagement rings, wedding bands, and other luxury purchases.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships through personalized outreach, follow-up, appointments, text messaging, social media, and traditional communication methods.
- Understand each client’s needs, preferences, lifestyle, and occasion to provide thoughtful product recommendations.
- Develop repeat and referral business through consistent clienteling and relationship management.
- Work toward individual and team sales goals while maintaining a high standard of service.
- Confidently support high-value transactions and sophisticated fine jewelry clientele.
Product Knowledge & Expertise
- Maintain strong working knowledge of diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, fine jewelry, and jewelry craftsmanship.
- Clearly communicate product characteristics, quality, craftsmanship, care, and other relevant details to clients.
- Continue developing product and industry knowledge through hands-on learning, training, and professional development.
- Stay informed about relevant fine jewelry trends and developments.
Clienteling & Relationship Management
- Maintain consistent communication with existing and prospective clients.
- Use CRM tools to document client information, preferences, follow-up activity, appointments, and sales opportunities.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reconnect with clients and develop future business.
- Provide personalized follow-up before, during, and after the sales process.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accuracy in transactions, client documentation, follow-up, and other sales-related records.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and comfort using technology and digital tools in daily work.
- Follow established processes and procedures while demonstrating sound judgment and initiative.
- Partner with colleagues across the business to support an exceptional client experience.
Team Collaboration
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment.
- Share product knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
- Support overall business and team goals while maintaining individual accountability.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of fine jewelry sales experience.
- Demonstrated experience building client relationships and driving sales within a fine jewelry or comparable luxury environment.
- Strong knowledge of fine jewelry materials, gemstones, and diamonds.
- Experience working with high-value purchases and discerning clientele.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, computers, and other technology to support clienteling and sales activities.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Gemological or jewelry industry education is highly valued, including credentials such as Applied Jewelry Professional (AJP), Graduate Diamonds, Graduate Gemologist (GG), or comparable industry training.
Schedule
- Full-time, onsite position in New York City.
- Typical showroom hours generally fall between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with shorter hours on weekends.
- Must have flexibility to work a retail schedule, including weekends and holidays as business needs require.
Compensation & Benefits
- $75,000–$80,000 annual base salary, based on experience
